The next time you go to the toilet don’t just do your job, flush it and get out, but take a peek into the toilet before flushing it. It’s not disgusting or scary to do it. But this can give you a clear insight of your health and can even save you your life.
Pooping is a natural thing to do. It’s actually a way of expelling the waste the body doesn’t need after absorbing all of the nutrients of the food you consume. And the look and smell of the poop actually give you an insight of what’s occurring in the body.

Let’s take the texture of it at first

There can be a variety of texture of your poop in addition to the food you consume, and can sometimes be a sure sign that you need to change your diet plan.
  • If you experience separate hard lumps, nuts like – it’ a sign that you’re lacking fluids and fibers, meaning you should include more water in your nutrition and eat more vegetables and fruits.
  • On the other hand, if it’s watery without solid pieces, all liquid – it’s a certain sign of diarrhea, which may be caused by some sort of an infection. Drink more liquids in order to replace the lost ones and prevent yourself from being dehydrated.
  • If you experience soft blobs with clear-cut edges – don’t be worried. This is normal if you clean your intestines several times a day.
  • If it has ragged edges and is in fluffy pieces – it means that it’s on the way to become diarrhea.
  • Or, if it’s soft and sticks to the side of the toilet indicated that the body doesn’t absorb the fats properly, due to chronic pancreatic or the presence of too much oil in the body.
  • Also, if it’s sausage-shaped, but lumpy and with cracks – means that you need to load up the fiber and fluids.
  • In contrast, if it’s sausage shaped, soft and smooth – it’s a certain sign that you’re doing your nutrition fine.

The colour of the poop can also indicate a certain issue

Green, for example, indicates that you might have eaten a lot of leafy veggies.
The brown color means that you’re fine – and the color is due to the bile produced by the liver.
Yellow- indicates excess of fat due to malabsorption disorder.
Light-colored, clay or white colored – might mean a bile duct obstruction, and can be a result of a certain medicine intake.
Black – might mean that you’re bleeding internally due to cancer or an ulcer. Or might be a result of some vitamins, ones that contain iron or bismuth subsalicylate. You should visit a doctor if you find it too often.
Bloodstainedor red – is a symptom of cancer. You should immediately pay a visit to the doctor if you find blood in the stool.

Several facts about the poop

  • The poop is a result of the not absorbed part of the consumed food;
  • Is made up of dead cells, mucus, bacteria and undigested food as already mentioned;
  • It takes one to three days for the organism to digest and the food to end up in the intestines ready to be flushed out.
  • There is no normal or expected frequency when you’ll go to the toilet. Every organism is different and some people might go once to twice a day, others go more or less, depending on the food you consume and the type of the organism.

How to maintain a healthy looking stool

In order to be certain that you’re pooping healthy you should tend to consume the appropriate and healthy food. Consume food that is rich in fiber, drink lots of water and do exercises on a regular basis.The proper hydration contributes to make the colon slippery enough in order to assist the poop to move through.
Always pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you notice symptoms that are out of the ordinary of your usual poop and if you start experiencing them often, then it’s a certain sign to visit the doctor.
